We understand that seeking support can feel unfamiliar. Rest assured, we are here to address your questions and guide you through the process with clarity and professionalism.
What is a Nurse Practitioner?
A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced healthcare professional who is also a Registered Nurse (RN) with postgraduate education, typically a master’s degree, in specialized fields such as psychiatry. NPs are authorized by state regulations to prescribe medication, perform psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health conditions, conduct psychotherapy, and order diagnostic assessments, among other responsibilities.
How long do I have to wait to get an appointment?
Appointment availability largely depends on your scheduling preferences and office availability. However, most individuals are able to secure an appointment within one to two weeks of reaching out.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we accept insurance. If your policy includes out-of-network benefits, you may qualify for partial reimbursement. A detailed receipt, commonly referred to as a Superbill, will be provided for submission to your insurance provider.
Do you treat children and adolescents?
Yes. Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) qualifies me to provide psychiatric care across all age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older individuals.
How frequently will I need to be seen?
The frequency of appointments is determined by the specific nature and severity of your condition. Sessions may range from weekly to every three months, depending on your treatment plan.
If I am currently in psychotherapy, will you work with my therapist?
I do not offer emergency psychiatric or medical services. In a medical or psychiatric emergency, please do not proceed with this form. Instead, dial 911 or visit the nearest urgent care center or emergency department.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
When an appointment is scheduled, that time is exclusively reserved for you. To maintain efficiency and minimize disruptions, a minimum of 24 hours’ notice (one full business day) is required for cancellations, with 48 hours preferred. If an in-person appointment cannot be attended, a phone or video session may be arranged to avoid cancellation fees. Please contact the office promptly to make any necessary adjustments.
